I own Sheepdog Supplies, a gun store in Sagle, Idaho. As a lifelong Republican, I served for many years as Treasurer of the Bonner County Republican Committee. I served in the United States Marine Corps as a turboprop mechanic on KC-130 aircraft. I am a self-taught computer repair and network technician, mechanic, and gunsmith. I previously owned a successful computer networking company and several gun stores. As a Construction Project Manager for one of the nation’s largest hospital systems, I specialized in managing the most complex, high-budget projects that others avoided. I developed a comprehensive budget creation, tracking, and audit system that was later adopted company-wide.
Budgeting, Tracking, and Auditing, My Experience
In my early 20s, I purchased a failing computer networking company and turned it profitable within the first year, growing annual sales to over $1 million while consistently meeting payroll, paying all bills, and staying current on taxes. Later, as Main Loan Fund Project Manager for a large hospital system, I oversaw construction and renovation projects routinely exceeding $50 million. When the company struggled with budgeting, tracking, and reconciliation, I developed and implemented a comprehensive system that accurately budgeted, tracked, and audited every phase of spending. After successfully testing it on my own projects, the entire organization adopted it. I managed and refined the system for over 10 years. I have also owned and operated multiple gun stores, where the same principles of tight budgeting and financial accountability were applied daily. From turning around a struggling business to managing multi-million-dollar project budgets, I bring proven experience in responsible financial management, the exact skills needed to safeguard taxpayer dollars as Bonner County Clerk.
Our Government No Longer Serves The Citizens
The roles have been reversed. It now feels as though citizens exist to serve the government, rather than the government existing to serve the citizens. Too many elected officials have forgotten that they are public servants. I intend to reverse that trend. As your Bonner County Clerk, I will lead by example and restore honest, accountable public service to our county government.
